Petra Szávics has almost 20 years of experience in regional development, as well as Cohesion Policy programme and project implementation. She has been working for the European Commission as an external expert in assignments linked to smart specialisation in lagging regions since 2018. Additionally, for a couple of years she has been employed as an associate teaching fellow and as an expert in various projects financed from European and national public funds at the Babeș-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca.
As a former employee of the North-West Regional Development Agency, she has coordinated the elaboration of the first regional smart specialisation strategy and initiated the Transilvania iHUB 4.0 project, through which relevant regional stakeholders received technical assistance to establish and operate Digital Innovation Hubs.
